Busy Weekend!

Well actually I didn't have a busy weekend but it was SO nice!

Saturday night, Bo and I took our daughters, mothers and sisters - and Jo lol to the movies to see Burlesque with Cher and Christina Aguliera, well they were in it rather than that they went with us - that would be a whole other post lol.  We really enjoyed it - a real good chick flick with some VERY nice eye candy for us girls to drawl over and if you take your man I am sure with the danching and the ladies dressed as they are they won't be to boared either!  If you get a chance get a bunch of girlfriends together and go :-)

So apart from going to the movies I managed to make a couple of cards and want to enter them into the Southern Girls Challenge - the first time that I have ever done this so wish me luck.  All that I had to include on the card was dry embossing  - so it was time to get out the cuttlebug and play with my spellbinders dies and embossing folders!
I have used the Lilly of the valley stamped images care of Jo - thanks mate oh and Jo I think we need to get a second job so we can buy more of them!

On the back of them - and I apologise for the crappy photo (new camera is on the birthday list but that is in June) is my new stamp that I had made:
And watching me create is Basil - he has made his new bed on the bean bag with a mink blanket then Nigel's nice merino jersey - do you think he might be comfortable?
Funny thing is since we have done the renovations he won't get in his usual bed and our makeshift lounge he won't come in either - strange!

Righto best i get off here and go and settle one teenage daughter who tomorrow starts High School for the first time - man she is so worked up and nervous we are walking on eggshells tonight!

Have a great week everyone :-)

Up to here in nappies!

Nigel and I were laughing as we went through the checkout with two packets of new born nappies just wanting someone to see us or tell Nigel's sister who works at the supermarket that they saw us with nappies hehe set the tounges wagging.

But in actual fact I had decided to make one for the baby shower that I had this weekend.
Bronwyn and I put out money together and made this:

Of course the card that I had made in the previous post - well the colours didn't match so I had to make another one so they were all colour co-ordinated!
The little "roses" are socks and the "candles" are facecloths, I got the idea from googling nappy cakes and watched a couple of video's on how to do it.
Thanks Jo for coming over and making me use MUCH more of my stash than i would have - but it looks great for doing so!  The cake was well received :-)
It was great to catch up with the ladies in CHCH for the baby shower but it wasn't long enough - bring on the birth of the baby in a couple of weeks and Bo and I will make a road trip out of it - shopping and a road trip to friends yay sounds great to me!
Well that's about it for me for the week - hopefully I can get something crafty done this week - might be on a roll lol!
Tania at Embellish It has put the dates out there for the up and comming crops, Timaru, Oamaru and Dunedin - you go girl!!  So hopefully I will catch up with some of you ladies at the Timaru crop?  And I have booked in for Raincliff so hurry and book your place if you haven't already - I can't wait!

Untill then have a great week, and thanks for visiting.

Cheers

Rachel

Finally

Finally today I managed to sit inside to try to get away from the heat and made a card!

I did make one for Jamie's 15th birthday.  Here are some pictures of Jamie's room - they actually don't do the room justice it looks way better in real life lol

I made the card from his wallpaper and a dusty attic clock.  He thought it was pretty cool so mission complete!
Here are some photos of Abby's bedroom - we still have to carpet the house but until we are finished with renovations it won't happen!

Both of the kids wanted their wardrobes so that they could have a desk, Jamie wanted a space to house his TV and play station (that he brought with his paper run money) and Abby wanted to put her stereo in and then be able to put her guitar's in the wardrobe - AND we still have to find room to put her drums back in her room somewhere!
I have enjoyed a very lazy weekend - yesterday we went to a BBQ for Jo Flannery's birthday - happy birthday Jo for today!!!!!  :-)
And today apart from a Nana nap (because I HATE this heat and just want to sleep when it is this hot) I made this from scratch

I have been invited to a baby shower - so also want to have a go at making one of those nappy cakes so stay posted and hopefully I will be able to post a picture of the finished cake that will go with this card
Tomorrow is back to work for me - lucky Nigel is on holiday although i think if the weather is nice he will be painting the outside of the house.
Tomorrow also marks the start of basketball and touch rugby again (and boy do I need it!) after the Christmas break so for me it's back to routine again :-)

Catch you all again soon
