Klic N Kut & Southern Girls Challenge.

Well after a VERY busy week trying to work through the help files that Sandy gave me - I am finally pleased to say that i think I am getting a little bit of an understanding of how the Klic N Kut works.
Here are the cards that I have made (just the inside invitation to go) all 25 of them probably took me about one and a quarter hour for each one - that was not taking into account the fiddling I had to do to figure out how to change the nodes of the knk files but I think the boys will be happy with it:

Also I decided to again participate in the Southern girls Challenge this fortnight and the Challenge is to use "frills and Polish" or Lace & Pearls - so after seeing the Whiff of Joy tutorial of how to make a purse - I decided to give it a go (note if you are doing it one of the measurements is wrong so double check it will all work before you cut into your paper - and Bo you will be pleased to know I figured it out myself and before i cut the paper - did have a bit of trouble figuring out which piece though lol!)

I was quite happy with how it all turned out and I used my new digi image - Sweet Blossums by weestamps, she was just so adorable and after seeing her done on a few blogs especially Sending you a little smile - take a look Mariska does a stunning job - well I just couldn't resist!

So here are the photos.

Well that's it from me- thanks for dropping by and have a great week.

Cheers

Klic N Kut Weekend

The weeks are just rolling around - I know I have said it before but seriously where is the year going?

Here are another couple of cards that I have to share with you all

The last couple of days I have been playing with the Klic N Kut - I have to do 30 invitations for the boys at work to the crusaders game on the 11th of June here in Timaru and was trying to do a rugby card.  Now I have not ever really had that much time to play with the knk but now that I don't have the business anymore I have decided that it was time that we learnt how to use it to it's full advantage.
Our scrapbooking group brought the knk and the cricut but no one really knows how to work the machine.  So I e-mailed this lovely lady called Sandy - who has video's etc and runs weekend retreats although not here in NZ which is a real shame.  I kept telling her that NZ is a wonderful place to visit!
And hopefully with her help I will be able to make these invitations and they won't look like a kid cut them!
The KNK machine is really an amazing machine and once you have purchased it apart from replacement blades and mats there is no extra costs - no cartridges to purchase etc.
Now to just figure it out?

Anyway enough rambling from me, thanks for popping in and have a great weekend!

Happy Mothers Day!

To all those mums out there - to humans and fur babies - Happy Mothers Day!  I hope you all had a fantastic relaxing day.
For a wee while now I have wanted to try making "cake pops" they seem to be the next thing in America after the cupcake and I see them popping up in quite a few blogs.  Apparently they also sell them at Starbucks!
So Here are the ones that I made today:

and here are a few more:
and one i packaged up for my MIL as part of her present:

So what are "cake pops"  Basically you bake a chocolate cake and then crumble it all up and add some frosting (mine was a cream cheese icing basically) then mold the "pops" into what ever shape you want and stick a lollipop stick into them - they will look like this:
Then you put them in the freezer while you melt the chocolate and them dip them and decorate!  I tried to make a cupcake - third in on the top picture - they looked quite cute in real life.  And the verdict on the taste?
Actually really yummy - they are very sweet and you could really only eat two (if you are like me and really like sweet things).
But if you google "cake pops" and click on images you will see the amazing creations that some people can make - stunning and very creative AND VERY TIME CONSUMING!

And on the card making front here is one that I did a wee while ago I looks so much more stunning in real life as I used Diamond Dust - or twinklets on Tilda's dress and around the edges of the paper and in the light it just shimmers - looks quite stunning.

and the inside
I am also going to enter this into the Southern Girls Challenge for this fortnight which is "all things girly"

And before I forget and if anyone is still reading LOL - congrats to Mandy B for winning the giveaway prize that i had forgotten to draw - Mandy send me an e-mail with your address and I will get your box off in the mail/courier to you and I will even pop in one of the "cake pops" for you to try!

Have a great week everyone!  Thanks for popping on by!

Wedding Photos!

Well we had a bit of fun on Friday with the Royal Wedding.
Decided to have a "high" tea complete with cucumber sammies, butterfly cakes, Lamingtons, scones and cream, club sammies just name a few lol.
For me the wedding itself was a bit of a let down - I thought Kate was outshone by her sister (man she was stunning and I LOVED her dress!) and I thought maybe the wedding itself might have been a bit more about Wills and Kate and shunned a little bit of the tradition.  But it was still very nice and a good excuse to have a bit of a get together to watch it.
Here we all are:

It was a bit of a giggle!
Yesterday was the Embellish It crop so after a few late nights Bronwyn & Tarsh picked me up and away we went.  This was Bo's first crop since Tania took over Embellish It and so it was nice to see her sit and do :-)
And she made 4 cards - go BO!  I think everyone was very productive and there was lots of lovely layouts done.  I made cards too as it was easy to pack for just that lol.  But I have not taken any photos as yet.

I was a good girl this morning and went for a 8km run - the furtherst I have been for a while so might not be able to walk tomorrow.
Then mum had us for lunch which was SO YUMMY.  After the groceries I went to The Warehouse Stationary and brought my Mothers day pressie (and had a struggle to get it off Abby so I could use it today!).  I brought a Brother p-touch label makerso I could label all my scrappy stuff - really handy but it didn't come with enough tape (ok Jo -STOP IT - I can hear her saying I have WAY to much stuff - which of course is not true - she has WAY more than me lol).
Abby has just made tea for us and then I feel like it will be an early night for me!

Hope you all had a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by.
